Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative has been working on a collaborative project with the Owari-cho shopping district under Project: AERU (*1) since 2023. As part of this project, this year we are also implementing a plan to revitalize the space on the second floor of the Owari-cho Long-established Exchange Center to create new exchanges.
The students of the Owari-cho Shopping District Collaboration Project Team named the space "Ingira-ya" (*2) and made it available to students and citizens, and held an opening event on June 10. In this event, Kanazawa University students were invited as participants.
At the beginning of the event, project member students explained about the project's activities in collaboration with the Owari-cho shopping district. Then, with the cooperation of Koshiyama Kanseido, which has a store in Owari-cho, participants experienced making wagashi, Japanese confections. Participants deepened their understanding of the project and experienced Kanazawa culture through the wagashi-making experience.
In the future, the Owari-cho Shopping District Cooperation Project plans to exchange opinions with the people of the shopping district about events such as the "Anyato Festival" to be held in Owari-cho on August 23, and further utilization of the Owari-cho Long-established Exchange Center. The project will widely publicize the charm of the Owari-cho shopping district by planning events that will attract many people to the area.
*1 Project: AERU
This aims to create opportunities for students to meet and learn from each other, students and the local community. We offer educational programs (outside of regular courses) for Kanazawa University students in the local community.

*2 Ingira-ya
The origin of the name is "Ingira-to shimasshi", a Kanazawa dialect meaning "take your time".
The name was chosen by the Owari-cho Shopping District Collaboration Project Team with the hope that visitors will spend a relaxing time in this space.
